The company earlier has notified forced employees in the United States, Sundar Pichai CEO sent in an email to all Google workers. Layoffs will take lasting in other countries due to local laws, CEO said.
The job layoffs describe about 6% of Google’s global manpower. It’s not clear how many numbers of those jobs are in the United States.
January has been a harsh month for huge Tech giants workers. Microsoft already announced stretch layoffs Thursday and is cutting 10,000 jobs, and about 5% of its manpower. Amazon and Salesforce reported layoffs earlier in this month.
The giant tech companies say they hired immediately during the pandemic and now have to make serious cuts among an unsure economy.
“Over the past 2 years we have seen time of uncertain growth. To match and fuel that growth, we hired for a distant economic reality than the one we face today, wrote Sundar Pichai CEO in the email to workers posted online and in a managing filing.

The cutoff also come as major big tech companies like Google depend to artificial intelligence. But expanding on early expense comes with tight choices Sundar Pichai said.
The job layoff will hit employees all over parent company across product areas, functions, levels and regions Sundar Pichai said.
In summation to cuts at huge tech companies, there have been cutoff on Wall Street. Goldman Sachs said it was design to cut off about 3,200 employees in one of the biggest cuts since the 2008 financial dilemma.
